Comprehensive Technology Platform

OLP has created a suite of technology tools to support the daily efficient operations of the business. They include a full enterprise service platform (i.e., CRM, field operations, accounting integration, etc.) that will allow you to manage daily workflow, from marketing to the initial customer call all the way through invoicing and collection of receivables.

Comprehensive Initial Training

We created the category of low-voltage landscape lighting. In fact, we pioneered the processes and technology used by the entire industry. Every day we continue to refine our systems to maximize your expertise and optimize your chances of exceeding your goals for your business. Here’s an outline of the extensive training you will receive as a franchisee (and this is just the first seven days).

Day One

Your first day will allow you to meet our Digital Marketing Manager, Jane Campbell, and our Brand Marketing Consultant, Alex Mercer. They will cover:

  • Marketing and lead generation strategies and tactics
  • National Marketing Fund
  • Marketing plan development and implementation

Day Two

On day 2, you will meet with our Technology and Finance Team. They will cover:

  • Technology platform including our intranet and client relationship management tool
  • Accounting best practices and chart of accounts

Day Three & Four

On days three and four you will meet our Director of Field Operations, Jim Morris. Jim will cover:

  • Lighting design techniques and product application
  • Advanced design techniques
  • Night time demonstration
  • C.O.L.T.(Certified Outdoor Lighting Technician) introduction
  • The Lighting Boss design software
  • Field installation
  • Field service and maintenance

Day Five

Our fifth day will introduce you to Rich Young, Our Vice President, and our Senior Field Consultant, Tom McCombs. They will cover:

  • OLP sales methodology
  • Pricing jobs
  • Using technology when selling
  • The AMP (Annual Maintenance Plan)
  • LAS( Lighting Assessment Score)

Day Six

On day six, you will meet with members from our operations and digital marketing team. They will cover:

  • Building trade alliances
  • Developing your microsite
  • Reputation software
  • Call service introduction
  • Vendor review
  • CRM recap and review

Day Seven

On day seven we wrap and training and review each key area with the respective departments. They will cover:

  • Goal setting and support expectations
  • Marketing review
  • Technology review
  • Sales review
  • Product and design review

Once you’re up and running, the training doesn’t stop there. On an ongoing basis, our franchise partners benefit from structured field visits from OLP’s corporate support team, phone support five days a week, and both an online Performance Center for best practices information and the Marketing Shoppe for marketing materials.

  • Annual Holiday Lighting Training Class—Every August, franchisees from far and wide gather in Richmond, VA, for Outdoor Lighting Perspectives Annual Holiday Training Class. During the 4-day training program, rookie and veteran franchisees are able to learn about the newest and hottest holiday lighting products, explore new tactics with our marketing team, and even head out in the field for hands-on installation training. The training class is always a big hit with our family of franchisees and leaves them feeling excited and ready for the upcoming holiday season.
  • Annual Midyear Meeting – Each summer, Outdoor Lighting Perspectives brings franchisees together for a mid-year meeting. Franchisees themselves create the agenda ensuring the most pertinent topics are covered in addition to priceless networking time.
  • The Outdoor Living Brands Annual Meeting—Franchisees from all four World Class Franchise opportunities meet each year to foster education, growth, and opportunities in the coming year. The annual meeting is the highlight of every year and we look forward to seeing you at our next meeting in January.
